Jul 04 2010 - Shawn Jett Sparkles in Career First FASTRAK Win at Roaring Knob

MARKLEYSBURG, PA (July 2, 2010) Shawn Jett celebrated the Fourth of July by picking up his career first Brooks Automotive Group FASTRAK Late Model feature at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex. Jeff Dellinger (FWD 4 Cylinders) and Bill Brown (Classic Cars) were also first time winners. Repeat winners were Keith Jackson (Jack's Recycling Super Late Model), Deana Groves (Melvin's Automatic Transmission Service Modifieds), Mike Duritsky (Bobby Lake Motorsports Street Stocks) and Marty Spade, Jr. (TC Race Car Parts Chargers).

Shawn Jett of Harrisville, WV earned his career first win in the 20-lap Brooks Automotive Group FASTRAK Late Model feature. Jett battled all race long with good friend Derek Doll before taking the win. Doll was able to get under Jett but could not complete the pass and settle for second. John Over, Troy Shields and Mike Lewis filled out the top five. Sixth through tenth were Billy Stile III, Tim Snare, Jr. (from 13th), Jeremy Zufall (from 15th), Jim Bryce and Ron Smithley. Shields and Stile were the heat winners.

The Classic Cars made their first-ever visit to the Knob and put on a dominating performance to take the win in the 20-lap event. Jim Crocker was second over Matt Wallace, Charlie Weaver and Kurt Welsh. Weaver and Brown won the two heats.

Tim Senic took the lead at the start of the 25-lap Jack's Recycling Super Late Model feature. Senic led the first eight laps. Kutas used the high side of the track to pass Senic for the lead. Kutas looked like he was pulling away until Keith Jackson moved into second. Jackson closed in and the two raced side by side for ten laps. A caution flew with two laps to go as Jackson had led lap 23. Kutas gave it his all and put on a show for the fans. He jumped the cushion in turn one and that secured the win, his second of the year, for Jackson of Odenton, MD. Kutas came home second over Bob Gordon, Tim Senic, Jeff Ferguson, LC Powers, Bob Hershman, Shaun Poling, Mel Minnick, Jr. and Steve Booth were the top ten. Jackson and Kutas claimed heat wins.

Morgantown, WV's Deana Groves led all 15-laps of the Melvin's Automatic Transmission Service Modified feature. Groves was never seriously challenged on her way to her third feature win of the season. Dennis Perigo rode in second beating out Vic Vandergrift, Josh Cramer and Nick Cramer. Filling out the field were Louie Krushansky, Nathan Baker and Todd Daughenbaugh. Perigo and Grove were the heat winners.

Mike Duritsky was not to be denied in the 15-lap Bobby Lake Motorsports Street Stock feature. As the green flew so did Duritsky. He took the lead at the start and pulled away to a straight-away lead. A caution with three laps to go closed the field but no one had anything for the Uniontown driver. Duritsky picked up his third win this season. Jim Bendishaw, Jr. grabbed the second spot on the final lap from Bob Nelson. Marshall Coleman and Chris Lucy were the top five. Ryan Newman, Scott Spade, Bo Karwatske, Bob Miller and Chuck Bloom were sixth through tenth. Heat winners were Coleman and Duristky.

Kenny Burkholder took the lead at the start of the 12-lap TC Race Car Parts Charger feature. Burkholder led his younger brother Kyle until JT Baird came on and passed both Burkholders to take the lead. Baird was looking for his career first win but Marty Spade, Jr. had other ideas. Last weeks feature winner hounded Baird for a few laps and then passed him for the lead on lap ten. Spade's win was his fourth this season. Baird held on for second over Kyle Burkholder, Brad Jenkins, Kenny Burkholder, Bus Matthews, CJ Nicola, Jerry Walters, Jr., Donnie Walters and Bennie Dennis. Heat wins went to Spade and Shawn Smith.

The final event of the night was a 12-lap feature for the FWD 4 Cylinders. Jeff Dellinger powered his was past Andrew Dutkewycz and was on cruise control in claimed the feature win. Steve Settle, Mark Seiler, Paul Koffler, Jr., Jeremy Hill, Dave Friend, Jason Myers, Todd Detrick, Dustin Detrick and Dutkewycz completed the top ten. Dellinger and Settle were the heat winners.
