Jun 24 2012 - Senic, Dalton, Groves, Bendishaw, Burkholder and Settle All Repeat Winners

Senic, Dalton, Groves, Bendishaw, Burkholder and Settle All Repeat Winners at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex.

MARKLEYSBURG, PA (June 23, 2012) Another great night of racing at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex found a host of repeat winners.  Tim Senic won the Hooiser Tire Mid-Atlantic Super Late Models while Nolan Dalton (High Gear Speed Shop FASTRAK Late Models), Deana Groves (Modifieds), Jim Bendishaw, Jr. (Krause Electric Street Stocks), Kyle Burkholder (Ft. Necessity Garage Chargers) and Steve Settle (Newt’s York Bar Roadrunners) were all repeat winners.

Deana Groves bested one of the largest field of Modifieds in a long time at Roaring Knob.  The Morgantown, WV driver led all 15 laps with challenges from Clayton Kennedy ad Evan Taylor. Groves win was her second of the season. In a great run Evan Taylor came from his 17th starting spot to get second on the white flag lap but time ran out.  Taylor was followed by Kennedy, Tom Martineck, Denny Perigo, Matt Chenoweth, Jimmy Duncan, Bruce Dreistadt, Kevin Miller and Mike Errett.  Groves and Perigo were the heat winners.

The 25-lap Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic Super Late Model was another exciting finish.  Tim Senic grabbed the lead at the drop of the green. Senic appeared to be on rails and he drove away from the competition. Billy Holbert, who started sixth, took the second spot on lap eight but by that time Senic was gone. Slowly Holbert was reeling in the S2 of Senic.  As the pair approached lap traffic Holbert was on his bumper.  Holbert made a run down the back straight and pulled along side of Senic.  As they came off turn four the pair touched with Holbert backing off and Senic taking his first win since opening night.  Holbert was a disappointing second over LC Powers, Mason Zeigler, John Garvin, Bob Gordon, Ron Delano, Jr., Matt Cosner, Cody Hardesty and Bob Hershman.  Powers and Senic won the heats.

Kyle Burkholder raced to his third Ft. Necessity Garage Charger feature.  Burkholder was running fifth when a three car pile up took out second through fourth.  This lucky break put Burkholder in second behind leader Justin Howell. Burkholder passed him on the lap five restart and then held off a determined JT Baird for the win.  Kenny Burkholder, Howell, CJ Nicola, Shawn Smith, Cody Colflesh, Ed Vogel, Eric Miller and Bradley Nesline completed the top ten.  Heats were won by Baird and Colflesh.

Nolan Dalton started eighth in the High Gear Speed Shop FASTRAK Late Model feature. By lap five he was fourth. After a lap six restart Dalton shot to the high side and blew past three cars to take the lead from Troy Shields.  From there the Morgantown, WV driver checked out to win his fourth 20-lap feature of 2012.  Filling out the top ten were Louie Krushansky, Ken Herman, Jeff Ferguson, Troy Shields, Bobby Cossell, Russell Baird, Jr., Vince Masi, Jr., Jeff Compton and Mike Lewis.  Michael Lake won his career first checker in a stock car picking up the first heat with Ken Herman taking the other.

Mark Seiler looked to be on his way to victory in the Newt’s York Bar Roadrunners.  Seiler led nine laps before tenth starter Steve Settle came into the picture.  Settle passed Seiler to  lead the final three laps for his third win of the season.  Seiler was second ahead of Cindy Rhodes, Mark Koffler III, Michael Jellick, Allen Fortney, Mark Gower, Ed Detrick, Todd Detrick and Mark Koffler, Jr.  Koffler, Jr. and Jellick took heat wins.

Once again the Krause Electric Street Stocks put on a show for the fans. Last weeks winner Jim Bendishaw led the opening two laps before EJ Rozak came from third to pass him for the lead.  Rozak, in his freshly painted car, kept Bendishaw at bay.  Todd Dennis worked his way up from seventh to make it a three car battle. Lap after the lap the trio dueled for the number one spot. With five laps to go Bendishaw was back out front leaving Rozak and Dennis to settle for second.  Bendishaw held off a last lap charge from Rozak to earn his second straight feature win. Rozak was DQed in a post race inspection giving the second spot to Dennis. Bob Nelson, Ryan Newman, Jason Gibbs, Mike Duritsky, Jim Byers, Bob Miller, Charlie McClain and Ron Howard were the top ten.  Qualifying heats were won by Rozak and Nelson.

The June 30 racing action will be highlighted by a huge fireworks display sponsored by Penn Summit Insurance Agency of Farmington.  On the card will be the Hooiser Tire Mid-Atlantic Super Late Models, High Gear Speed Shop FASTRAK Late Models, Modifieds, Krause Electric Street Stocks, Ft.
