Rules And Regulations
A. ELIGIBLE MODELS - Any North American made car 1975 through present. NO JEEPS, TRUCKS, STATION WAGONS or CONVERTIBLES. Minimum wheelbase 104", body must be the same wheelbase and manufacturer as frame being used. Car must remain stock. TOW HOOKS ARE REQUIRED FRONT AND REAR!
B. FRAMES - No fabricated frames, must be full factory or unibody. Full factory must be intact and not rusted out. You may plate repair a rusted out spot only, nothing more. If a unibodied frame is used it must be tied together with a 2" by 3" frame box, minimum .120 wall thickness, between existing front frame section and existing rear frame section.
C. ROLL CAGE - Must be minimum 4 point design ( highly recommend is at least a 6 point with 2 down bars to the rear and front and rear hoops, this will be mandatory for 2009) with a minimum of 3-bars in doors with racing seat and belts attached to roll cage (high and low) with an "X" behind the driver. All tubing must be minimum 1.50" diameter and .095 wall thickness seamless steel tubing. NO BLACK PIPE PERMITTED. Halo must be above drivers head, front and rear hoop is permitted, the cage must be gusseted at the joints. The cage must be padded at any point the drivers head can contact, if you can imprint the padding with your finger when pushing on it, it is not proper padding. The drivers seat must have a headrest. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED are "kit style" cages with a minimum of 1.50 " diameter and .095 wall thickness seamless steel tubing gusseted at the joints. Drivers side door must have a 1/8" steel plate on outside of roll cage from top to bottom, left to right on entire door. It is highly recommended that you continue the plate to protect the drivers feet also
D. SUSPENSION - Must be stock OEM and in stock location, tubular aftermarket steel upper control arms may be used but must be in stock location. Shocks and springs must be stock OEM type and in stock location. NO after market cross members or control arms permitted. No panhard bars or additional bars or links may be added with the exception of the bar notation in rear end rule below.
E. WHEELS AND TIRES – ONLY HOOSIER size 26.5/8.0-15 and 27.5/8.0-15 in A40,D40,RC4 or E-MOD 2 Ply in Soft, Medium or Hard compounds. Wheels, steel only maximum 8" wide, with oversized lugs & nuts. Beadlock rim may be used on right rear only.
F. FUEL CELLS - Must have an approved fuel cell in 19 gauge steel container, 22 gallons maximum, must be held in with 4 hold down straps, minimum 1/8" thick x 1" wide, 2 side to side and 2 front to back.
G. FUEL- GASOLINE ONLY. No additives permitted, no alcohol, no nitrous oxide. Gasoline can be sampled and if any performance enhancing additives are found, the result will be suspension and loss of all points accumulated for the year as well as money won that night.
H. BODY - Door must be welded shut. All glass must be removed and must have screen in windshield. Rear inner fenders may be altered for clearance but must remain closed to interior. Fenders must remain in tact but minor trimming will be allowed for clearance. Front inner fenders may be removed. All body parts must be in stock location. No homemade front ends. Hood and trunk must be properly secured with hood pins. Carb and air cleaner may not stick out from under hood, no holes in the hood. Bumpers must be stock for the body and properly secured. No bars or rails or bracing permitted outside the body. Must have a full steel floorboard and cowl and be totally sealed. There must be a steel fire wall at trunk area to close off drivers compartment and it must be sealed. Bodies must be steel. Plastic bumper covers are permitted.
Spoiler permitted maximum 4" high by 60" wide mounted at the further most point to the rear of the rear deck lid. No sides permitted on spoiler
I. BATTERY - Battery may relocated but may not be in drivers compartment. Must be securely mounted. Tie down straps or bungee cords are not acceptable as secure mounting.
J. DRIVE SHAFT - Must have a steel 360 degree safety strap at front of driveshaft. Driveshaft must be painted white.
K. REAR-ENDS - ANY American made passenger car rear-end, 1970 or newer, is permitted. Either a floating style rear end or safety designed racing axles are highly recommended. Rear-ends must be locked, welded or spool only. No panhard bars or additional bars or links may be added unless it came stock for the car being used on the rear. If it came stock for the car it must be the stock non adjustable bar and the stock mounting tabs. Adding on tabs to mount a bar is prohibited.
L. ENGINES - Must be stock 350 Chevrolet, 351 Ford or 340/360 Chrysler, max .040 overbore. Cast iron block, crank and heads only (see the only approved heads and intake manifolds below). Cast iron exhaust manifolds or DYNOMAX or HEDMAN headers, maximum 1-5/8" tube and 3" collector. No angle plug or vortec heads permitted on Chevrolet motors. ABSOLUTELY NO; porting, polishing, matching or cleaning-up of heads, intake, or exhaust manifolds permitted. OEM crank and rods for the engine block being used only. No lightening of crank or rods permitted. Balancing is permitted, crank must remain a minimum 50 lb. Cast or hypetectic style replacement flat top 3 ring pistons only. Roller rocker arms permitted, flat hydraulic or solid lifters only, stock diameter valve springs only. Approved racing oil pans permitted. ALL OIL PANS MUST HAVE A 1" PLUG ON SIDE OF OIL PAN OR BE READY TO PULL THE PAN FOR INSPECTION AT ANY TIME. Maximum compression ratio is 10.5 to 1 no tolerance. Must be stock ignition for motor being used. Motors may be no farther back than #1 spark plug in line with center of upper ball joint. Must have a working starter. Solid motor mounts permitted.

M. CARBURETOR- ONLY HOLLEY PART #3310 is permitted. No modifications except the removal of choke plate.
N. TRANSMISSIONS - Stock OEM 3 and 4 speed transmissions with functional forward and reverse gears. Automatic transmissions permitted but must have working torque converter and be able to switch from forward to reverse with engine running, no couplers or overdrives. Aluminum flywheel permitted.
O. CLUTCH- Stock OEM type clutches only, no disc type clutches. Must have a blow proof type bell housing with a 1" hole in it for inspection purposes. If no hole you will be required to remove at any time for inspection.
P. BRAKES - Brakes must operate on all 4 wheels. Tilton style master cylinder permitted. No adjustable brake devices located inside of car period.
Q. SAFETY - Must have a racing type aluminum seat properly secured to the roll cage. Must have a minimum 5 point seat and shoulder harness system properly mounted per manufacturers instructions. Belts must be less than 3 years old. Must wear a Snell 95 or better approved full face helmet. Must wear a fire retarding drivers suit and gloves. (Nomex is highly recommended) It is highly recommended that fire resistant underwear and shoes be worn. It is highly recommended that a head and neck restraint are used. Nylon mesh window net required on drivers side. All cars must have an approved working minimum 5 lb. fire extinguisher securely mounted in reach of the driver. ( 5 lb. Halon is highly recommended) Must have a safety chain on left side of motor. No radios or any type 2 way communication permitted. No mirrors.
R. WEIGHT RULES – All cars must weigh 3200 lb. minimum with driver after the race. All added weight must be securely mounted to the frame with a minimum of two (2) 1/2" diameter steel bolts. All added weight must be painted white.
S. EXHAUST - Exhaust must exit car parallel to the track behind driver, may not point down to the track.
T. NUMBERS - Car must be numbered and lettered in an acceptable manner. 18" high and 3" wide numbers must be on both doors and the roof also a 4" by 4" number on the windshield upper right corner and the tail light area left rear corner. Numbers must be highly visible and acceptable to the scorers. If not you will be advised of changes needed. No duplicate numbers, the first registrant of the number will own that number ( call the track office to register your number ) if a duplicate appears at the track a temporary change will have to be made for that night and a permanent for future nights.
U. DRIVER ELIGIBILITY - A driver who is considered to be a normal driver in either the SUPER LATE MODEL or LATE MODEL class at either RKMC or any other track may not compete in this class. If you are in doubt about the eligibility of a driver call the track or see the the Chief Steward ahead of time to determine the status of a driver.
ALL ABOVE RULES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE. CHANGES WILL BE MADE ACROSS THE BOARD AND NOT ON INDIVIDUAL BASIS. IF CHANGES TO THE RULES ARE MADE THEY WILL BE PROPERLY POSTED. BE GUIDED BY THE RULE "IF IT DOESN'T SAY YOU CAN, ASSUME YOU CAN'T".
RULE BOOK DISCLAIMER
The rules and/or regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing events at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex LLC and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. These rules shall govern the condition of all events, and by participating in these events, all participants are deemed to have complied with these rules. NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM PUBLICATIONS OF OR COMPLIANCE WITH THESE RULES AND/OR REGULATIONS. They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to a participant, spectator or official.
The race director shall be empowered to permit minor deviation from any of the specifications herein or impose any further restrictions that in his opinion do not alter the minimum acceptance requirements. NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM SUCH ALTERATION OF SPECIFICATIONS. Any interpretation or deviation of these rules is left to the discretion of the officials. Their decision is final.
